These earring started with fossil walrus ivory tusk points, which I sliced carefully in half and polished to a shine. The leaf design is hand-drawn using the ancient technique called scrimshaw and a deep black ink.


  • Natural colors in the tusk points: deep honey and turmeric colors
  • Hand-drawn scrimshaw inspired by the overgrown hostas dotted around my backyard
  • Handmade sterling silver ear wires (french hooks)
  • Approximately 1.5" long
  • One of a kind
